I have no idea how to use this website so I’m gonna go ahead and add that to my goals.

Today is Monday, April 20th 1:20pm.

I am currently at my marketing job procrastinating for a bit in order to get my thoughts down into one place. Let me start by saying this:
I want to move to Charleston as soon as possible.
I am not happy at this job nor does it fulfill me.
I do not like marketing work for a company that I truly don’t care about. Sure it is fun sometimes to be creative but after 3 years now, I am over it and I kind of dread coming to work and hearing my boss. I don’t want to be negative – that is not what I came here to do but I just want to jot down how I really feel.

I get paid $20 an hour on a hourly salary with insurance and retirement? (insurance is what keeps me here) I work 5 minutes from my house at an offsite office which is kind of nice because it does get me out of my house and kind of forces me to do work. That, I would say, is a plus. However-
– I do NOT like event planning
– I do NOT like posting social media content that is just to post and does not reflect me or my interests creatively – nor do I give a shit about companies online or even what everyone is up to on social media.
– I DO love to see ideas for gift wrap, home decor, girls trips, and stuff that reflects a vibe more than pushing you to by something or brag. I enjoy old Pinterest and I like tik tok for laughs/ideas and Youtube to feel inspired and not alone.
So there is my little shpeal.

I just got back from visiting Charleston with my mom and sister and I have never felt the push to want to move somewhere more than I did with this trip. The city was so beautiful and southern. It felt like reading a beach romance book but realistic. It was the perfect combination of the south, the beach, small town vibes, and community. I have to move there.

In order to move there, there are a few things that I need to realize and understand:
1. Moving somewhere will not make you happy or change who you are (right?) So don’t expect to be all of a sudden SOOO happy and content when I move there.
2. You need to figure out a job there. What the heck are you going to do?
3. You need to save up some money before you decide to move there. Yes, save up money. You can do it.
4. You need to find a place to live that you can afford when you move there. (How to do this? I am unsure at the moment because I don’t want to move there without a job and I don’t want to move there with a job and not have a place to live. How do people do that??)
5. Set some kind of realistic timeline for yourself to keep you towards your goals. (I can do this, but I often get lost in the everyday schedule of life and lose my goal and then feel sad about it.)
6. Get an extra gig here with my other job – i.e. bartending/cart girl. (this terrifies me bc I am really tired all the time and would anyone even be interested in hiring someone with a full-time job already.)

Now that I wrote down those terrifying realizations – here is what is on my mind with how to make changes to move:
1. MAYBE start posting some kind of content to express yourself and become a type of resume. Instagram, TIK TOK, perhaps. But only post stuff you genuinely like and care about doing and are excited about.
2. Talk to brother in law about remote job
3. Update resume to cater to a job that I can do on the weekends and Sundays here to kickstart me into bartending. CARTgirl, golf course, idk something
4. Set aside 1-2 hours every day doing one of these things that I just listed.
5. Don’t give up on your dreams. As of now, you have nothing holding you back but yourself. Be patient, but be thoughtful in every move you make to ensure you reach who and where you want to be in life.

The time is NOW – so if you don’t get started TODAY, you will never start.
